1. Operating principles
By utilizing the principle of the Venturi effect the need for a pressurized gasoline tank has been eliminated. This is inherently safer than having pressurized gasoline in the fuel line. Oxygen pressure is used to create low pressure in the fuel line which then draws the gasoline into the torch handle for efficient atomization. This also allows for a torch handle design similar to the traditional oxy-acetylene torch. All the controls are conveniently located on the torch handle. The end result is an easy to handle torch capable of cutting steel up to 12 inches thick. 2. Safety & Reliability
The greatest danger when using gas cutting equipment is the risk of fire or explosion caused either by a fuel leak or a flashback. The TONGTAI Oxy-Gasoline Cutting Torch is manufactured under strict quality controls to insure a safe and reliable system. Our oxy-gasoline cutting torch does not have the safety issues other systems may experience if the pressure in the gasoline tank is too low, since we use a non-pressurized fuel delivery system. As an additional safety measure our cutting nozzles are specially designed to prevent a flashback.
Further safeguards can be found in the gasoline fuel tank. Each tank comes filled with a metal alloy to render the tank explosion proof. The metal alloy effectively divides the tank into a myriad of tiny compartments, thus stopping the spread of a fire within the tank. Furthermore, the honey-comb like structure of the explosion-proof material serves to absorb the heat of a fire and reduce the buildup of dangerous pressures. All these features combine to produce the safest conditions for operating an oxy-gasoline torch. 3. Low cost
Cost savings using gasoline fuel as compared to using either acetylene or propane are remarkable. Just a single 3 liter tank of gasoline will cut as much steel as a full sized tank of acetylene. This provides a fuel savings with gasoline of over 80% as compared to acetylene or over 50% when compared to propane.
4. Fast cutting The TONGTAI Oxy-Gasoline Cutting Torch operates at a temperature of up to 2900 C. The warn-up time is short, the cutting speed is fast, and it is very efficient. At room temperature it can cut ¾ inch steel with only a few seconds warm-up time at a rate of 22 inches per minute.
5. Clean Cutting The TONGTAI Oxy-Gasoline Cutting Torch provides excellent results. A skilled operator can virtually eliminate the problems of gouging of the top surface and slag build-up on the bottom of the metal being cut. This results in a good smooth surface and quick clean-up.
